I’ve been wearing hair extensions since I was 10. My mother, a licensed cosmetologist with over 30 years of experience, raised me in the heart of beauty. But even with that foundation, I couldn’t find hair that matched my own. Everything said “kinky curly,” but nothing ever blended with my 4C texture.
I was straightening my leave-out just to make it work. Dodging rain. Avoiding heat. Living in fear of my real hair showing through, all so I could conform to what was available. And still, it never felt quite right.
Built with Intention
I started sourcing hair from all over the world. I wasn’t just a customer anymore, I was obsessed. The deeper I went, the clearer it became: most “Type 4” extensions were being created by people who didn’t have Type 4 hair. They were copying a stereotype, not reflecting reality. So I created my own...

Just like foundation has undertones, curls have nuance. That's why I Created five distinct textures that reflect the full spectrum of real Type 4 hair. Not just one generic “kinky curly” or “yaki straight” option, but two carefully curated collections, each designed with nuance and intention.
The Wash & Go Collection features:
4A, 4B, and 4C textures; going beyond “kinky curly” by offering true curl accuracy, defined by the natural patterns we actually see in real life..
The Stretched Collection features:
Airè Blowout and Satin Pressè; textures inspired by the beauty of stretched, blown-out, and pressed Type 4 hair. Where traditional “yaki” textures often fell short, these are designed with true curl origins in mind; airy, authentic, and unmistakably ours.
Because not all Type 4 hair is the same, and the details matter.

My Story
I grew up around hair and started wearing extensions when I was five. With all that experience, you’d think I would have looked for hair that matched my own texture sooner — but it wasn’t until I turned twenty that it even crossed my mind.
I wanted to try something different, so I bought my first “kinky curly” extensions. That’s when I realised something was off. Everything with that label still missed the mark. The curls looked similar, but not accurate enough to blend with my 4C hair. I was still straightening and curling my leave-out, still avoiding rain so my real texture wouldn’t revert and ruin the blend. And I remember thinking,
Why is it this hard to find hair that actually looks like mine?
When I Started Looking Deeper
That question pushed me to dig deeper. I began sourcing hair myself, trying suppliers from different countries, comparing textures, and studying how each one behaved when wet, dry, stretched, or defined.
The more I researched, the clearer it became: most Type 4 textures on the market weren’t based on real Type 4 hair. They were broad interpretations created by people who didn’t actually have the texture they were trying to replicate.
Creating Textures That Felt Real
So I decided to create my own.
My focus was accuracy, not approximation — real patterns, not general categories.
I developed a range of textures that reflect what Type 4 hair genuinely looks like in everyday life, whether defined, blown-out, or stretched. Nothing exaggerated. Nothing watered down. Just honest, familiar Type 4 textures that actually make sense.
